What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage FG-(MLD)

FG-MLD® “Fill & Flush” Technique Is the most up to date MLD method of which there are many.  Prof Belgrado developed the new method following the imaging of thousands of human lymphatic systems in people with and without lymphoedema.  Fluoroscopy mapping itself,  provides real-time images of the Lymphatics allowing for you to see how to use your hands to move fluid known as “Fill & Flush”. This technique is built on the foundations of the pioneers of MLD, such as Vodder, Földi, Casey Smith and the likes.

Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is given in a gentle way, a skin stretching Massage that directs lymph away from an affected area.  This specialist skill, requires a lot of practice and training. Your therapist should be a registered practitioner.

Many conditions of the lymphatic system may be helped with the use of MLD, I am fully qualified to treat any area of the body.  MLD works on the lymphatic system where it may be defective, the focus is on the lymph vessels helping with lymph fluid flow. MLD is applied to the unaffected areas at the beginning of treatment.  MLD helps to decongest the region, opens the remaining functioning lymph Collectors to move fluid and protein into them as well as stimulate lymph fluid flow through the lymphatics and back into circulation.

Diane Accepts referrals from many Oncologists and Consultants, local GP`s and accepting Health Care insurance companies.  Can accept NHS patients where funding has been provided by the patients NHS Trust. Self referral is also very welcome.

What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) at a glance?

  • (MLD) is an advanced massage technique that can be practised anywhere on the body. This precise technique aims  to assist the body’s lymphatic system, moving lymph towards the lymph nodes, where the body can dispose of sluggish, blocked or stagnant areas  more easily.
  • MLD is  effective in releasing blockages of lymph flow, which can cause oedema (swelling of the tissues)
  •  (MLD) is deeply relaxing, comforting and healing.
  • MLD stimulates the lymphatic system so it works more efficient. Allowing new fluid to circulate freely bringing abundant water, nutrients and oxygen to cells, thus increasing vitality and health.
